A brief history of the company and our plans for the future.
By founding APESS® GmbH in 2021, we created the basis for even more intensive support for the heat pump market in Germany, Switzerland, South Tyrol (Italy), and Austria. A clear sales structure, managed by the parent company in Villach, Austria, is provided to give investors and planners the opportunity to implement real sustainable energy concepts in their properties and thus to act economically and sustainably.
The merger of Air 2000 GmbH and Filzmaier Klima- und Energietechnik GmbH has brought together a wealth of commitment, knowledge, decades of experience and extensive know-how, and forms the foundation for our innovative company in writing a new, green chapter in the history of heat pumps.

APESS operates in a dynamic buyer’s market. Our customers demand specific and innovative solutions with high delivery and quality requirements. This goes as far as customized product development. Development is driven by climate protection and customers’ efforts to massively reduce theirCO2 footprint, not through green-washing, but through their own efforts in terms of building air conditioning.
APESS® is organized as a virtual company. Depending on the customer order, APESS core staff, engineering offices, independent sole traders, specialized large companies, freelancers and suppliers form a business network and work closely together to complete projects of different sizes, complexity and locations. At the customer’s request, we are also happy to work with their “house planner” and preferred installation company.
This approach makes the projects less sensitive to the failure of individual project partners, as they can be replaced quickly. Depending on the assignment, the virtual project teams vary in size, are individually composed and thus have tailor-made core competencies. Virtuality means that the physical location of the individual team members is irrelevant. Collaboration takes place internationally via a state-of-the-art information and communication infrastructure that makes project planning independent of time and space. All players are focused on their core competencies and central management functions are largely not institutionalized. The APESS ® GmbH is the standardized external presence. It is the owner of all process patents and possesses the simulation software for representing the entire air conditioning process as the core of every customer offer. The time-limited, project-oriented form of cooperation makes the virtual company independent of economic fluctuations, as the fixed costs can be planned minimally and scaled to the order situation at any time. Many traditional administrative tasks are eliminated in this virtual form and are carried out by the individual team members themselves.
These dynamic structures guarantee high efficiency, speed and flexibility as well as maximum customer orientation. Knowledge maximization and the bundling of individual partners is the great strength of APESS®. Each customer project is individual and the findings flow into the APESS® knowledge base and its further development without delay. This is the prerequisite for the development of high-tech products and special services and their implementation within time and budget. The question of the size and number of employees of APESS® as a virtual company is therefore always dependent on the number, size and internationality of the respective projects and, like a balance sheet, can only ever be answered precisely in relation to a point in time. The question of the reliability of APESS® as a supplier, which is of particular concern to the procurement departments of large customers, can be answered on the one hand by risk splitting through independent individual companies within the framework of the virtual company as a whole and on the other hand through more than 250 reference systems in a wide range of industries.

Our vision is to use APESS® technology to save millions of tons of CO2 and to make all of our projects (CO2)carbon-neutral in the medium to long term.
